Looking Forward

As a plaque one of my children gave me says, “Just when a Mother thinks her work is complete…she becomes a grandmother”, my evolution into the role as such has been blessed. It’s amazing how my perspective on parenting has changed since the grandchildren have entered my life. It’s like being able to step outside of the daily grind and seeing the big picture! The little things that at-the-time seem so irrating, in the long run really don't matter. When I think back to the messes the kids made and how focused I was on that---just doesn't seem to matter anymore. On the otherhand, the time spent talking or laughing, doing nothing are so much more important. Relationships we establish last are so much longer and more important than a clean kitchen. I wish someone would have told ME that years ago!
